Album of the Week: Hot Natured Deliver on Anticipated Debut Album "Different Sides of the Sun"

At long last the eagerly awaited debut album from house music supergroup, Hot Natured, has been released and "Different Sides of the Sun" absolutely does not disappoint. Featuring plenty of deep, sexy house music grooves that have been lovingly sun-kissed with that current late-90's throwback vibe, this is the perfect end-of-summer album. Pair it with the recently released, AnjunaDeep 05 compilation from James Grant and Jody Wisternoff for a proper party.

While this album sampler doesn't do "Different Sides of the Sun" enough justice, you can get the basic flavor of what Hot Natured are offering on their debut album on Hot Creations label:

Oh and here's their huge hit, "Benediction" which is but one of many standout songs on the album:

Special Thanks: Hot Natured for making this album, Hot Creations for putting it out (along with a slew of other standout house jams), New Mexico, family and new adventures

Essential Free Download: Author Give Away "Break Yourself" on SoundCloud!

One of our favorite groups of 2013, Author, have returned from their triumphant USA tour (we caught the LA show and it was so fresh), ready to venture off to the acclaimed Outlook Festival next. But before they do, Ruckspin and Jack Sparrow have been kind enough to treat fans to a free download of "Break Yourself" which didn't quite make the cut on their recently released second album, "Forward Forever." As you might expect, deep bass music is the name of the game here.

Special Thanks: Author, deep bass music, Submotion Orchestra and Jody Wisternoff

Bold Prediction: Daft Punk WILL Tour in 2013

Despite a lot of back and forth this week over whether or not iconic electronic music producers, Daft Punk will be embarking on a tour in 2013...we aren't fooled by the smoke and mirrors and firmly believe they will be hitting the road - at least for a handful of appearences. When you consider that they will definitely have a new album out this year, you can be certain the band will want to announce their comeback in a big way. While Coachella is the usual hot-tipped choice for the USA, (which would make sense for the cultural impact of the new album), don't count out a full-blown tour towards the end of the year.

These guys only do things big and this image says it all:

New Music Tuesdays: Motor City Drum Ensemble Prepares to Release New EP in January 2013

One of our favorite producers of 2012, Motor City Drum Ensemble, has delivered some good news in that he'll be releasing an EP of all-new music via his label, MCDE, on January 30, 2013!

Take a look at the album cover:

The tracklisting is:

A1. Send A Prayer Pt.1
A2. Send A Prayer Pt.2
B1. The Stranger
B2. SP11

This has us really excited and also hopeful that he may finally come to Los Angeles for a gig!

In the meantime, here's his excellent Resident Advisor Podcast that still sounds so fresh:
